Trim the blocks on the dashed lines. Pin the sections together at the ends and at any matching points. Set your sewing machine to a basting stitch and machine baste at the beginning, end, and any matching points. Open the seam to check for a good match. If the sections are not perfectly aligned, remove the basting stitches, readjust the sections, and rebaste. When you are happy with the match, sew the entire seam, using 18–20 stitches to the inch. Pin and machine baste beginning, end, and matching points along seamline.
